some hints on making your flight more comfortable...

JET LAG!

Jet lag is a broad term for travel related ailments. Dehydration is one common element of jet lag, so drink a lot of water and keep alchol consumption to a minimum. Many air traverlers get swollen feet as a result of low air pressure; loosening your shoes will help.

But the main symptom of jet lag is the tiredness that occurs when your body's clock gets confused about when bedtime is. Melatonin is an over-the-counter remedy that you can buy at any health food store. It is identical to the hormone secreted into your bloodstream at night to help induce sleep. The night before you travel, take a melatonin pill before going to bed. Then take another one at bedtime once you've arrived. This will help your body adjust to the altered hour in your new time zone.

STOP YOUR EARS FROM HURTING!

Ear pain is especially likely to occur when your plane is ascending or descending and the cabin pressure increases, causing a blockage in your eustachian tubes. The pain can be exacerbated if you have congestion. Yawning and chewing gum are good quick remedies. If neither of those works, ask your flight attendant of a cup of boiling water. Pour out the water and place your ear over the cup. Ther steam remaining in the cup should clear your ear. You can also got to a pharmacy and buy EarPlane, made by Cirrus Air Technologies- these disosable ear plugs regulate the pressure in your ears.
